With this post we are celebrating the launch of our Memories Boutique Weddings blog (where we are honored to tell the first chapter of a couple’s family story), the beginning of spring and our first spring wedding, and a beautiful couple whose story is just beginning. Lots to celebrate, indeed!
Friends, meet Chris and Kyana.
For their wedding we traveled to the North Georgia mountains, to a tiny little town by the name of Chatsworth. Nestled at the base of a small mountain, this small community has a very close-knit feel.
Chris and Kyana celebrated their big day at her parents’ church, and were married by her childhood pastor. It could not have been a more beautiful spring day. The day was warm, the skies were blue, and everything is a newly-blossomed beautiful green… storybook wedding-day weather. Simply glorious.
This low-key couple preferred a small gathering and simple details: an elegant two-tiered white cake beckoned to guests while happy sunflowers graced the tables and the bouquets of the bride and her attendants (her sister and her childhood bestie). The groom and his groomsmen (his dad and brother) opted for dress shirts and ties rather than the stiff formality of suits and tuxes, which lent an air of laid-back easiness to the wedding day proceedings.
It is readily apparent that the couple adores each other. They laugh easily and often, teasing each other one moment before coming in for a kiss the next. It was so fun to photograph a couple that enjoys laughing with each other, especially in the midst of something as stressful as a wedding.
The sweet bride and groom, who met a few years ago in college and were friends long before they were “together”, enjoyed the sweetest First Look ever. My assistant and I were fighting back tears (along with the groom) when the couple spent a quiet few minutes together before the chaos of the wedding day commenced, seeing each other as husband and wife for the very first time.
We couldn’t fight those tears any longer (nor could anyone else) once Chris and Kyana read their vows to one another, vows that they had written themselves. It was such a special moment, and such an honor to be a part of it.
And after the ceremony, we were treated to the most beautiful golden light- in which we captured the very first pictures of a brand-new family. What a perfect ending… and a perfect beginning.
Congratulations to Chris and Kyana on your beautiful wedding day! We are praying your story unfolds, chapter by chapter, into one of beauty, peace, and happiness for all the years of your lives.
